Job Description

**Position located in Texarkana, AR**

Summary/Objective
The Access Coordinator II is responsible for accurate scheduling,
rescheduling and canceling appointments patients and routing calls to
the appropriate person or department for UAMS Southwest All For Kids
program.

Essential Functions
1. Schedules, reschedules and cancels appointments

2. Generates and distributes the patient recall report for All For Kids
and schedules the patient for appropriate follow-up appointment

3. Posts co-pays, co-insurance, and outstanding balances paid at the
time of service

4. Balances receipts at the end of each day that she accepts patient
payments

5. Checks out patients subsequent to release from exam room/marks
"checked out" and schedules follow up appointment

6. Enters demographic and insurance information for all non-clinic
related visits, to include hospital inpatients and nursing home patients

7. Gathers demographic information for billing charges using hospital
based system

8. Enters recall information as patients are released from the exam
room

9. May perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED plus two (2) years of scheduling and/or
insurance experience in a medical office or high volume call center
- Computer/basic keyboard skills, telephone etiquette skills, and
general knowledge of office machines including printers and scanners
required

Preferred Qualifications:
- Registration experience is preferred
- MS Office experience (Word, Excel & Outlook)
- English/Spanish interpreting skills preferred
- Knowledge in basic medical terminology preferred, medical terminology
competent within 3 months of hire

Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- Work primarily performed in a clinic/hospital environment
- Position engages with the public with constant distractions and
interruptions
- Must be able to sit, stand and work at a computer for long periods of
time
- Must be able to lift 15 lbs. (6.8 kg) from floor to waist and waist
to chest
