Job Description

The Institutional Printer-Creative Services is a skilled producer in
high-end, high speed duplicating who has completed advanced technical
training and demonstrated superior skills through considerable actual
work experience. S/He operates high speed digital publishing systems
and assists in delivery of finished product.

Essential Functions
1. Scans originals or accepts digital files of original materials via
Web interface or other digital media

2. Assists with regular inventories of consumable supplies

3. Evaluates customer supplied originals and job specs and assists
customers in making decisions relating to their printing jobs and
ensures that work performed meets the customer's needs

4. Selects optimum combination of materials and methods for each print

5. Pulls, files and performs work according to specs on either the
black and white or color machine

6. Cuts stock if needed and generally prepares all materials in
planning each print job

7. Handles telephone inquiries, greets clients, prepares shop tickets,
and consults with customers

8. Evaluates original materials provided and makes technical and
practical recommendations

9. Works in the bindery as needed and operates a wide variety of
bindery and other printing-related equipment, including collators,
stitchers, folders, industrial grade cutters, paper drills, velo
binders, GBC punches and binders and other equipment

10. Performs routine and periodic maintenance on equipment that
includes routine cleaning, preventive maintenance, lubrication, checking
for loose belts, hardware, etc., and performing minor mechanical repairs
as required

11. Requests service assistance when necessary

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED plus two (2) years of experience in the field of
high speed printing/duplication in a copy center environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with bindery equipment

- Ability to follow instruction; excellent communication skills both
oral and written; ability to prioritize and to interact with individuals
at all levels; computer skills
- Must be able to perform in a busy, high-energy environment with
constant interruptions
- Employs critical thinking skills as patient safety is involved if
incorrect decisions are made
- Meets productivity targets established by manager

Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- Work is primarily in a professional office environment
- Constant bending, standing, and walking
- Most work is performed at a desk with Keyboarding/Repetitive Motion
- Must be able to lift 20 lbs. (9.07 kg.) from floor to waist

Salary offered: $27,858 annually ($13.39 hourly)
